Joseph Gatt Unfortunately this vertical garden wall, which was inaugurated in 2020, has now been removed following an unanimous decision by the Poala local council in July 2023. Executive secretary for the Paola local council, Mr. Fabian Mizzi, said that the materials used for this vertical garden were unsuitable for Maltaโs climate, and that the upkeep of said garden was just too costly and thereby "it was no longer feasible to maintain".
