Encompassing an area of more than 3.4 million acres, and spread over both California and Nevada, Death Valley National Park is the most extensive national park in the United States, and contains a diverse array of landscapes, such as salt plains, volcanic slopes, wide sand dunes, and far-off snowcapped mountain tops.
