First ship carrying grain leaves Odessa in deal to ease global food crisis
The wail of a Ukrainian tug boat’s horn a few hours ago marked the departure of the first ship carrying grain from the Ukrainian port of Odessa this Monday morning, under a United Nations-brokered deal to ease a global food crisis sparked by the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Birgu is the city that took part in the Great Siege of Malta (1565) and is famous for being an ancient maritime city.
