Joseph Gatt Hi Mary Jo! This post unfortunately is a repeat of this post here: https://zafoid.com/post/view/11935
Joseph Gatt "It's very constructive to voice your feelings on your own party and it's fine to make a mistake. And when I make a mistake, I should stand up and apologise," Dr Ragonesi said (source: https://timesofmalta.com/article/more-should-speak-up-former-pn-general-secretary-says.97327).
Joseph Gatt "... the first original novel in Maltese written by a woman known to us — 40 years before 'Nokkla Sewda' by Mary Meylak."
Joseph Gatt Actually the Maltese revolted several times against their rulers, for instance: https://timesofmalta.com/article/The-Battle-of-Malta-730-years-ago.476209. Even during the time of the Knights, there were many instances of resistance, such as that of Dr Callus of Mdina during the reign of La Valette. Henry Frendo's Chapter 2 entitled "A long fermentation: lords, vassals and intermediaries" (pp. 20-37), in his book "Malta's quest for independence: reflections on the course of Maltese history", is a very interesting read related to this topic.
Timmy Walsh A quaint and quirky Maltese tradition! 😃
